So last Saturday 28th January, the "Chariddy Mates'" team ( minus Duncan who was on the slopes) , set out on our first training walk of the year. We started in Queen Elizabeth Park and walked to CP1 at South Harting. The team on the day consisted of Dave, Cob and Andrew.
We all found the stage rather straightforward and cracked on at a good pace, completing the stage in approx. 1 hour 40 minutes. We all agreed it was a good initial effort, combined with some good banter and so we rewarded ourselves with a fried breakfast at the Cafe back at the country park. All good apart from the cold beans!
Since the walk I've been concerned that, (a) I dreamt the outcome or (b) we missed out a whole section! Comparing it with the Sydney 2009 trailwalker I competed in , it did seem easier. However I am aware that we only walked one section and the team will be looking to walk at least two sections when we tackle our next training session on 28th Feb. So its all to play for yet.........!
More news to come, as well as a few photos.
Bye for now
Dave.
